Sister Alzira Sousa, Daughter of Mary Help of Christians, and principal of Externato Nossa Senhora do Rosário, in Cascais, spoke with Mariana Lagoas and Henrique Laureano, in another edition of WYD with Bosco.
In a program that recalled the 1989 World Youth Day, which took place in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Sister Alzira Sousa said that to recognize the love of God it is essential to have “a heart available and very open to recognizing the signs”. Since, in her opinion, young people are prepared to ask this question about God’s love, he “challenges” them.
Recognizing the importance of this 1989 meeting in Buenos Aires, which “moved the center of the Church [that was Rome] to another continent,” Sister Alzira also referenced the fact that in that same moment young people were invited to “know Jesus, to know His Word and to express that love in gestures of solidarity and fraternity,” giving continuity to the “Civilization of Love” that Pope John Paul II emphasized so much.
Sister Alzira Sousa ended her testimony by highlighting World Youth Day as a moment of “confirmation of faith, joy and great communion”.
