Last Saturday, January 7, took place at Paranhos da Beira the first encounter in preparation for WYD 2023. The young people linked to the presence of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians began the journey of preparation for World Youth Day in Lisbon next August.
The invitation was addressed to past pupils of the Salesian Sisters house in Paranhos da Beira who were 14 years of age or older. The meeting was led by the local pastoral co-ordinator, Sr. Fernanda Afonso, who gave a presentation of World Youth Day, its history and some curiosities connected with the meeting. The small group of young people who gathered on Saturday afternoon was also able to clarify some doubts about registration and participation.
Symbolically, the meeting ended with the planting of a fig tree, whose fruits will recall the journey of growth now begun towards a common goal.
Registration is now open. The next meeting is scheduled for 11 February at 20h30.
