The pope recently released a motivational video targeted at the young organizers of the upcoming WYD Lisbon 2023. Facing the current scenario, the Holy Father asked for them not to be discouraged. He incited them to continue to prepare the World Youth Day Youth of 2023 with “creativity” and “poetry”. “I am looking at Portugal, I am looking at Lisbon, I am looking at Fatima, I am looking at the meeting of all of you,” says the Pope in the video message. Recognizing that the current context is not favourable, since just after the end of the pandemic crisis we are now facing a war with unknown contours and repercussions, Francis hopes that this will not discourage the youngest, who are preparing the meeting and those who will participate in it. “Cheer up and keep going,” the Pope emphasized, affirming that “crises are overcome together, not alone. Crises test us to come out better. We do not come out of crises the same: we come out better or worse. And the challenge today is to come out better”.
