Pope Francis has sent a message to the young people who are participating in the European Youth Conference, which is being held in Prague from 11-13 July.
Addressing the young people, and highlighting the hope he feels in this generation, the Holy Father invites them to “transform the ‘Old Continent’ into a ‘new continent'”, with a “new face”.
In the message, Pope Francis also speaks of the Educational Pact, according to which we are all called to “educate ourselves in communion”. “The main objective of the Educational Pact is to educate everyone to a more fraternal life, based not on competitiveness but on solidarity,” Francis emphasises. Another proposal he recalls is the “care for our common home”, stressing the importance of reading the Encyclical Laudato si’.
At the end of his message, the Holy Father left an important invitation: “I invite you all to next year’s World Youth Day in Lisbon, where you will be able to share your most beautiful dreams with young people from all over the world.
