The courtyard of the St. Francis de Sales Oratory in Valdocco hosted the youth of the SYM for a meeting in preparation for World Youth Day Lisbon 2023.
On June 1, the young people of the Salesian Youth Movement of Piedmont-Vale d’Aosta gathered in the courtyard of the Oratory of St. Francis de Sales in Valdocco for a meeting in preparation for their participation in the meeting that will bring together more than six thousand young Salesians from around the world in Lisbon.
The aim of the meeting was to get a taste of the atmosphere that will be experienced at WYD Lisbon 2023 and to share the journey that the Salesian Youth Movement of Piedmont-Vale d’Aosta is making before and after WYD.
The evening began with some testimonies of participants of the last WYD, who testified the transformation that this experience brought to their lives.
The meeting also served to share some useful information about the program and to reflect on the expectations and the contribution that each one wants to make to WYD.
At the end, there was a moment of prayer with the entrustment to Mary and a candlelight vigil in the courtyards of Valdocco.
Father Leonardo Mancini, Provincial of the Special Administrative Region of Piedmont-Vale d’Aosta, recalled the motto of WYD in Lisbon and invited the youth to get up promptly to go out to meet others.
