João Fialho, coordinator of WYD DON BOSCO 23, was the guest of the program “A Fé dos Homens” on RTP2, and spoke about the participation of the Salesian Youth Movement (SYM) in the World Youth Day Lisbon 2023.
The coordinator of WYD DON BOSCO 23, João Fialho, said that the Salesians intend a “massive participation” of their young people in the World Youth Day Lisbon 2023 and that they hope to receive in Portugal” about 7500 young people of the SYM from all over the world. “At this moment, about six thousand young people of the SYM from all over the world are already registered for World Youth Day Lisbon 2023,” concluded João Fialho.
In addition to participating in the events that make up the week of WYD Lisbon 2023, the Salesian pilgrims will also have the celebration of the movement on August 2. The Salesians of Estoril will receive all the young people of the SYM for a very Salesian style party. In a true oratory experience, and having the playground, games, music and prayer as central elements, this day will also have the special participation of the Rector Major and the Mother General of the Congregation.
As for the opportunity that the WYD Lisbon 2023 will be for the whole Church and in particular for the different movements”, the coordinator of WYD DON BOSCO 23 emphasizes: “it is an opportunity to gain strength so that the Salesian Youth Movement can grow”.
