On the 100th day of World Youth Day in Lisbon, Carlos Moedas was welcomed at the Vatican by Pope Francis.
It was recently that the mayor of Lisbon, Carlos Moedas, met with the leader of the Catholic Church, to show him the enthusiasm of the Portuguese to host World Youth Day.
Carlos Moedas assured that all the works, destined for the event, are meeting the expected deadlines. Additionally, he said he was satisfied with all the investment and speed that are being implemented for them. “It is a great pride to be able to be in the Vatican and share a message of great confidence, that we are well prepared and with conviction that WYD in our city will be a huge success.” said the mayor.
Pope Francis was happy to return to Portugal and to see all the commitment of the country in organizing this big meeting.
Moedas said: “Lisbon will be the stage of the world for these days. Lisbon will not fail.”
