Zeferino was born in 1886 at Chimpay, in Patagonia, Argentina. His father, Manuel, was the last of the great chiefs of the Araucano Indian tribe. Zeferino atended a Salesian school, fell in love with John Bosco and was inspired by Dominic Savio’s life.
