The World Youth Day (WYD) Lisbon 2023 Foundation and TAP Air Portugal have recently signed a cooperation agreement to facilitate the participation of pilgrims in this international gathering of young people with Pope Francis.
With this collaboration, TAP Air Portugal – which has become the official “Air Transport Partner” of the event – will offer advantageous travel conditions for pilgrims on TAP-operated flights that land at or take off from the Lisbon and Porto airports up to 10 days before or after the start of WYD Lisbon 2023.
For D. Américo Aguiar, president of the Lisbon 2023 WYD Foundation, this partnership is very important because it will help “mobilize and facilitate the participation of young people from other continents for WYD Lisbon 2023, allowing them to come to our country to witness and experience this great international gathering.”
Recalling TAP’s association with “the greatest events in the history of Portugal,” Christine Ourmières-Widener, CEO of TAP Air Portugal, described the partnership that has now been established as “unavoidable”. “It is unavoidable that TAP is a partner in this event with global repercussions,” she concluded.
