WYD DON BOSCO 23 will be present at the Youth Festival and Vocational Fair with various presentations. A musical, a street parade and a prayer concert are some of the events promoted and presented by young people from the Salesian Youth Movement.
With the aim of making the Salesian and Dom Bosco Youth Movement known to youngsters, its founder and patron of this edition of WYD Lisbon 2023, WYD DON BOSCO 23 will be present both at the Youth Festival and at the Vocational Fair.
Featuring various cultural, religious and sporting events, led by WYD Lisbon 2023 pilgrims, in a sharing of the Christian experience made by youngsters from all over the world, the result of their creativity and generosity, the Youth Festival will take place throughout the city of Lisbon, for four days. WYD DON BOSCO 23 will be present at this festival, promoting various activities, such as the musical “Dom Bosco”, which will be presented from the 1st to the 4th of August at the Casino de Lisboa; a street parade, which will take place on the 1st and 3rd of August at Armazéns do Chiado, Rua do Carmo and Rossio and in Belém, respectively; the concert “Pray with us”, which will take place at the Igreja de S. Paulo, in Santos, on the 3rd of August; the presentation of the group Tambóra, on the 4th of August, at the Miradouro das Portas do Sol; and the flashmob, which will take place on the 4th of August at Terreiro do Paço.
As for the Salesian presence at the Vocational Fair, which is part of Cidade da Alegria, the highlight is the existence of a space where it will be possible to learn a little more about the Salesian Youth Movement and the Salesian Family. There, the youngsters can, in addition to participating in various activities, leave their testimonies and participate in “one2one”, moments of relaxed conversation between themselves. Pilgrims will also be invited to find out more about Don Bosco, about some of the missions of the different groups that make up the Salesian Family, as well as about the main pillars of Salesian spirituality, among other activities.
“The Vocational Fair, part of Cidade da Alegria, is a privileged meeting place for youngsters. And it will allow us to show the Salesian charisma in action and make known the enormous diversity of vocations within our Family”, concludes Sister Mafalda Monteiro, one of the leaders of the WYD DON BOSCO 23 Events team.
