The Salesians of Cape Verde have already begun their preparation to participate in World Youth Day in Lisbon in 2023.
The group JMJ SALESIANOS, composed of students of the School, former students, teachers, catechists and other young people connected with the work, began their meetings and activities in preparation for WYD Lisbon 2023 in the month of January. The meetings are held every last Saturday of the month, with the celebration of the Eucharist, a moment of reflection based on the Rise Up itineraries and socialising.
In addition to these formations, the group promotes some fundraising activities: cinema afternoons, tea afternoons, among others, with the aim of being able to participate in the meeting of young people from all over the world with Pope Francis in Lisbon next year.
In this Marian month, the group participated in the pilgrimage of Our Lady of the Rosary of Fatima from the city of Mindelo to the Chapel of Our Lady of Fatima, located in Mato Inglês. The Salesian community transported the litter along the 8km route and helped the organisation of the pilgrimage in its security.
May the Virgin Mary of Fatima continue to intercede for the young people on this day of preparation until Lisbon.
