The SYM in Timor-Leste, like many other groups of the Salesian Youth Movement, is already preparing its participation in the World Youth Day in Lisbon 2023.
Last February 25, a fund-raising concert was held at the “Don Bosco” Gymnasium of Dili Comoro, in Timor-Leste.
Held in the late afternoon, the concert featured several bands and guests, who enlivened a moment where music and joy were the main ingredients. In almost all the participating groups there were members who had been part of the Salesian Youth Movement.
Inspired by the theme of the World Youth Day Lisbon 2023: “Mary got up and went in haste”, the concert had as its theme: “Like Mary, I come to serve” and included the participation of bands such as The kraken, Gantajo , Juju and friends, Kalvari, Galaxy, acoustic family, new village and Lulik ba Dame, the orchestra of Father Aderito, SDB, from Baucau and groups with cultural dances from Timor Furak and Wehali.
The young people of Timor MJS thought and organized this fundraising concert with great responsibility and resilience. The contribution of many sponsors, who supported the event with tents, chairs and food, was also extremely important.
Almost 1400 tickets were sold for this concert.
