WYD DON BOSCO 23 is preparing its participation in the Youth Festival. With five interventions, the artists intend to provide WYD Lisbon 2023 pilgrims and the city of Lisbon with an experience of joy, youth, universality and faith.
The Youth Festival presents a set of cultural, religious and sports events, led by pilgrims of the World Youth Day. In a sharing of the Christian experience made by young people from all over the world, fruit of their creativity and generosity, the objective is to demonstrate that the Catholic Church is alive and young, and is capable of using the languages and art forms of today without compromising the message. you want to convey.
At the Youth Festival it is possible to find events in the areas of Music, Cinema, Exhibitions, Theater and Dance, Sports, Conferences, Religious and Meeting Events (prayers, testimonies, worship, meetings conducted by Movements, Associations and Congregations) and Museums.
In this sense, the participation of WYD DON BOSCO 23 in this festival comprises a musical, a street walk, a concert, a flashmob and a drum show.
An initiative with history
The Youth Festival is part of the history of World Youth Day and will comprise 250 music events, 52 religious events, 29 conferences, six on dance, ten on theatre, 16 exhibitions, 15 on cinema. In addition, there will still be space for sport (with JMJ Sports).
The presentations will take place throughout the city of Lisbon, on stages and outdoor spaces, but also in indoor spaces (auditoriums, cinemas, theatres, museums, exhibition spaces, churches), which were provided by public and private entities that, generously wanted to join WYD Lisbon 2023.
This will be an initiative open to everyone, even if they are not registered for WYD Lisbon 2023, and admission will be free.
