The coordination of WYD DON BOSCO 23 started, on March 22, joint monthly meetings with their teams. In order to take stock of the work done so far, this first meeting was attended by all the teams that make up the organization.
Bringing together, online, representatives of all the teams that make up WYD DON BOSCO 23, the meeting had as its agenda the presentation of the week’s program and registration packages WYD DON BOSCO 23; sharing of information about the registration; sharing of information about the volunteer packages; presentation of guidelines about the budgets; as well as the sharing of information between the different teams and the presentation of the Protection System for minors and people in vulnerable situations.
At this moment, the main concerns of the organization are to find volunteers, as well as host families to welcome the approximately 7000 pilgrims that are expected. As far as volunteers are concerned, WYD DON BOSCO 23 estimates that it will need the support of 600 volunteers, who will be divided among the different teams that make up the organization.
To be a volunteer at WYD DON BOSCO 23 is to identify with the challenge that Don Bosco gave to Miguel Rua: “to do everything in halves”. Thus, volunteers will be organized, distributed, accompanied and trained by the organization. This volunteering can be developed before and during the World Youth Day Lisbon 2023.
