>Funchal

The Island of Madeira is nicknamed the “pearl” of the Atlantic for its extraordinary beauty. The mild climate, summer and winter, makes the island one of the most popular and well-known portuguese tourist destinations in the world.

The Salesians arrived in Madeira in 1950 to run the School of Arts and Crafts. Today, about 1.000 students attend the Salesians in Funchal, from 1st to 9th grade, and the Youth Center. In Funchal the group of Salesian Past Pupils maintains a strong link to the life of the school and the Salesian community.
