Mogofores

>Mogofores

In the district of Aveiro, a region of excellent gastronomy and which claims – with justice – the title of the best portuguese pastry delicacy, “ovos moles”, we find the Salesian presence of Mogofores and the National Shrine of Nossa Senhora Auxiliadora.

The presence of Mogofores began in 1938 as a Salesian formation house, with the novitiate and a few years later the aspirantate. In 1975 it was transformed into a school.

Mogofores is the center of devotion to Mary Help of Christians in Portugal. Every year, in the month of October, the Salesian Family organizes a national pilgrimage to her Sanctuary, this being one of the most important dates in the Salesian pastoral calendar.
