The Local Organizing Committee for World Youth Day (WYD) Lisbon 2023 and the Associação de Hotelaria de Portugal (AHP) signed a protocol that provides the offer of discounts, in associated hotels, to pilgrims and their families.
With the aim of offering special conditions both to World Youth Day pilgrims and their families, the Local Organizing Committee and the Associação de Hotelaria de Portugal recently signed a protocol, which includes more than 100 hotel units, spread throughout the country.
In effect from July 22nd to August 15th, this partnership has units across the country. For this purpose, AHP created a website where interested parties can find participating hotels and book directly.
For D. Américo Aguiar, President of the WYD Lisbon 2023 Foundation, the Hotel Association of Portugal allowed anyone who comes to Lisbon in the context of WYD or is a pilgrim “to have a generous discount signal”. Hotelaria de Portugal highlighted that the “association wants to be a partner in hospitality. People come on pilgrimage, establish friendly and close relationships, and the question of where they are going to spend the night is very important”.
