With World Youth Day Lisbon 2023 approaching and only seven months left before the big gathering, Pope Francis has sent another message to all the young people who have already registered.

In a video, Pope Francis greeted the 400,000 young people who have already registered for WYD Lisbon 2023, saying, “I rejoice that so many young people are coming because they need to participate.”

For Francis, the young people who have already registered “thirst for horizons”, and need to “participate, to share, to tell their experience and receive the experience of the other”, he concluded.

Also, during his message, the Pope challenged all young people to “look at the horizon, with the eyes of the heart,” so that in this way they may get to know other young people and other cultures, who will also come to this World Youth Day.

Pope Francis, who signed up for WYD Lisbon 2023 on October 23, 2022, during the recitation of the Angelus in St. Peter’s Square at the Vatican (Rome), was the first pilgrim to register for WYD Lisbon 2023, the largest gathering of young people from around the world.
