The Protection of minors and other vulnerable people during World Youth Day has been a concern for the coordination of WYD DON BOSCO 23 since the beginning of its preparation.
To this end, a document is being finalized that, in addition to establishing clear protocols of action, also defines a code of conduct that all volunteers and collaborators of WYD DON BOSCO 23 must comply with. This document also requires all volunteers to provide a criminal record check.
During the development of this document, a series of risks have been identified and analysed, and protective measures for minors and other vulnerable people have been defined. Furthermore, the document also establishes criteria for the selection of host families and the allocation of pilgrims to them.
The WYD DON BOSCO 23 organization will work with the Salesian Youth Ministry (SDB) and the Ambit for Youth Ministry (FMA) to ensure that the protocol is then disseminated worldwide to the responsible parties and groups of registered pilgrims
