Not far from Lisbon, the city of Setúbal has some of the most beautiful beaches in Portugal, protected by the Serra da Arrábida Natural Park.
In the city of Setúbal, the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians opened a house in 1947 to welcome poor girls, the Casa Santa Ana (Saint Anne House). This feature is maintained until today in the Saint Anne Youth Shelter House that welcomes children, adolescents and young people at risk. This institution intends to be na answer not only to the education of the children and young interns of the House, but also in other areas of education and evangelization. The growth of the work led to the opening of the School with Pre-School and Elementary School.
Also in Setúbal we find the most recent presence of the Salesians in Portugal, inaugurated in 2019. Integrated in the territory of the Parish of São José, the Salesian presence in Setúbal includes the Setúbal Higher Education Student Center.
